摘要:语言是文化的载体,文化支配着语言。要获得跨文化交际的最佳效果,我们不仅要掌握语言本身的规律,更要了解语言所承载的深刻文化内涵。新颁布的中学生英语课程标准把培养学生的跨文化意识作为英语教学的重点之一。本文论述了跨文化交际意识在中学英语教学中的重要性,阐述了在中学英语教学实践中培养学生跨文化交际意识和能力的方法。　　关键词:英语教学;培养;交际能力　　一、注重文化差异教学的重要性　　近年来,随着改革开放步伐的加快,对外交往日益频繁,国与国之间的交流也越来越广泛,特别是社会信息化提高,国际互联网的开通使更多的人足不出户便涉及到跨文化交际。英语教学不仅是传授语言知识,更重要的是培养学生的交际能力,培养他们应用英语进行跨文化交际的能力。在跨文化交际中,交际的双方若不能进入同一文化背景之中,就容易产生不解或误解,从而使交际失败。因此广大英语教师要把跨文化教育列入英语教学的一个重要环节。　　二、运用不同的教学方法进行跨文化交际教学　　(一)提问之后解释　　在英语练习中,必要的文化知识如文化背景、风俗和习惯等都应向学生介绍,使学生在各种不同的场合正确运用英语。例如,练习中有一段对话,有一个小女孩问一位英国老太太“Howoldareyou?”老人答到“Ah,it’sasecret.”在教完这个对话后,我问学生们为什么对话中的老奶奶没有直接告诉小女孩她的年龄时,很多学生都摇头。这时我告诉他们:这就是民族文化的不同,汉语里可以对任何人发问:“你多大了?”以表示关心和亲切;而在英语国家,除了对小孩,人们不轻易问一个成年人特别是女士或老人的年龄,以免冒犯他人隐私权。在跨文化交际中要避免问以下这些问题:Howoldareyou?Areyoumarried?Howmuchdoyoumakeeverymonth?　　(二)在角色扮演中体会文化差异　　当教师在讲交际文化背景时,应该组织学生多做一些现场表演,对话可以是关于现实生活的真实情况和经历,从而创造一种良好的学习英语的交际氛围,从而达到切身体会文化差异的目的。　　(三)作好文化背景知识的介绍。　　在英语课堂上,教师应适当穿插有关国家的文化背景知识,诸如这些国家的宗教信仰、风俗习惯、生活及风土人情等等。要让学生进一步明确与英语国家的文化差异,避免交际的失败。　　三、在培养学生跨文化交际能力时,教师应做到以下几点　　(一)授课教师要转变观念　　在我国目前的教学体系中,外语教学多半只在课堂上进行,教师起着绝对的主导作用。因此,授课的教师必须要转变自己的观念,切实认识到培养学生跨文化交际能力的重要性。同时,教师还要加强学习,提高自身的综合文化素质,才能达到预期的教学目的。　　(二)改进现有的教学方法　　一直以来,英语教学侧重点都放在了语言知识的传授上,而忽略了跨文化交际能力的培养。为了改变这种情况,我们必须改进教学方法,充分利用现代化的教学手段来调动学生的学习积极性。此外还可以举办一些专题讲座,以满足学生的求知。但是值得注意的是,在改进教学方法时,一定要使新的内容与学生所学的语言知识紧密联系,并与语言交际实践紧密结合。　　(三)重视非语言交际能力的培养　　非语言交际也是一种重要的交际,指的是在特定的情景或语境中使用非语言行为交流和理解信息的过程,它们不是真正的语言单位,但在生活和交际中有时候却能表达出比语言更强烈的含义,一些特定的非语言行为往往代表着特定的含义,在跨文化交际中必须加以重视。中西文化背景下的非语言文化内涵差异非常大。例如,西� ��人交谈时,听者一般都会长时间注视对方的眼神,以示听者的认真和对说话者的尊重,但是在人看来,这是一种不礼貌的行为,因为人不习惯于对方长时间地盯着自己看。　　(四)引导学生广泛接触西方文化材料　　在学校里英语教学的课时有限,但学生在课余有自己可支配时间,因此不能仅仅依靠教师在课堂上的教学来培养跨文化交际能力,教师要引导学生利用课外时间广泛阅读西方英语文学作品、报刊杂志和时事评论等材料,从中吸取文化知识,增加文化素养,拓宽西方文化视野,提高跨文化交际能力。　　1.许果、梅林,文化差异与跨文化交际能力的培养。《重庆大学学报》(社科版),2002年第8卷第6期,121-123　　2.吴锋针,中西习俗文化“”。《绥化师专学报》,2003年第1期,90-92　　3.吴菲、仲玉英,“英语教学中跨文化意识的内涵分析”,《中小学英语教学与研究》。1(2005)。
